How to make it

Amounts in the steps are for 6 servings.

  1. 1

Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk, and stir-fry 100g of the chopped onion in a pan until it turns translucent, then let it cool.

  2. 2

Knead the ground beef and ground pork with the soaked breadcrumbs, the fried chopped onion, the eggs, ketchup, salt, nutmeg, and black pepper until the mixture turns sticky.

  3. 3

Divide it into 4 or 5 portions, shape them into ovals, and press the center of each one down lightly.

  4. 4

Film a pan with canola oil, brown both sides over medium heat, then cover it and cook them through to the center.

  5. 5

In the same pan, fry the butter, onion, and button mushrooms, then add the rest of the sauce ingredients and the water and reduce it for 5 to 7 minutes.

  6. 6

Return the hamburg steaks to the sauce, warm them for 2 minutes, and serve.

You can fix this

If it hasn't burned or stuck to the pan, it can still be fixed.

  • Too salty? Do not add water — it thins the sauce. Add more radish, potato, or onion instead and let them take up the salt.
