IllustrationSoy-Braised Oysters
Stir-fried & braised · serves 4
How many servings?
How to make it
- 1
Wash the fresh oysters gently in salted water and let them drain.
- 2
Put the soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup (mulyeot), and water in a pot and bring it to a boil.
- 3
Add the minced garlic and the Cheongyang chili peppers.
- 4
Add the oysters and braise them briefly over high heat so they do not turn rubbery.
- 5
Finish by scattering sesame oil and whole sesame seeds over the top.
You can fix this
If it hasn't burned or stuck to the pan, it can still be fixed.
- Too salty? Do not add water — it thins the sauce. Add more radish, potato, or onion instead and let them take up the salt.
