IllustrationSoy-Glazed Pork Jowl
Stir-fried & braised · serves 4 · 25 min + marinating
How many servings?
How to make it
- 1
Mix the soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, garlic, ginger juice and pepper into a marinade.
- 2
Marinate the pork jowl 20–30 minutes.
- 3
Heat a dry pan and sear the pork on both sides until browned.
- 4
Pour in the remaining marinade and reduce until it just coats the meat.
- 5
Finish with sesame oil, slice thin and serve.
You can fix this
If it hasn't burned or stuck to the pan, it can still be fixed.
- Too salty? Do not add water — it thins the sauce. Add more radish, potato, or onion instead and let them take up the salt.
